I am VERY close to canceling my cable and just using Netflix and the Internet to watch stuff on. The only real roadblock is convincing my wife (and myself, really) that watching stuff through the laptop will work just as well. We got a box that will put the laptop on the television, but now I need a VGA.
Anyone else in the midst of this switch? I mean, other than Bill?

Come Nov. 19th, when the update to 360 drops, I’ll be happily watching Netflix on my TV. If you don’t want to drop the cash for a 360, then sell a box that’ll do the same thing for $100. My parents got one and have enjoyed it. It’s better than trying to watch on a laptop screen.
We don’t have cable, I watch the shows I watch on the internet in front of my computer. There’s so much available online. Plus, there are way less commercials in what you do watch. SO instead of spending an hour on a show, it may be more like 40-45 minutes.
Why don’t you unplug the TV and just try it for a week?

Well, like I said, once I get a VGA cable, the laptop will be viewable on the tv. That would be nice, possibly. We’ll probably give that a try for a bit.
I am in the process of convincing my wife this is a good switch too. It think it’s the wave of the future!
