The Church’s Misplaced Trust Dr. Will Langford, lead pastor of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church, with a doctorate of ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, has published “A Misplaced Trust: Recovering Our Lost Identity and Mission.” This is a book exploring what Langford sees as Americans “trusting in politics rather than the gospel.” “The Church needed to be reminded what our job is. Our mission is to represent Christ and not Washington.”
