   Yeah, I remember Kaycee Nicole. And yeah, I still think that creating a character who people think is real is a rad thing. I am pretty surprised that in this age, people are still so willing to suspend disbelief and put their trust not in the character but in the author behind the character. Really, how many times does this need to happen before people start to understand the internet?

   Web 2.0 is sick. It’s full of intense, focused, self-important hot-heads who are very unforgiving of things like this.

   I’ve scaled back blogging and it’s precisely for that reason – I’m trying to spend more time doing saner activities that provide relaxation and fresh air.

   Dane,

   Agree. Frankly, consider how many fraudulent writers have come to light in the past few years in the MSM (e.g. Jayson Blair). One would have to conclude that “people” will never learn an appropriate level of skepticism. They (we) seem to trust the gatekeepers – bloggers, writers, editors, producers, publishers – to be honest because …. well, …. I have no idea why.
