You’ll want to pay special attention to our sidebar to the right titled, “Thinking it Through.” It’s where we think out loud and ask questions about the popular culture we take part in. It’s actually our twitter feed, so feel free to subscribe and follow along and please please join us in the discussion.
Welcome to Christ and Pop Culture
Pop Culture is everywhere. We just acknowledge it. Christ and Pop Culture is an attempt to discuss and think rightly about the common knowledge of our age.

Probably the biggest difficulty with the Twitter sidebar is that there’s no ready way to comment on the Twits. I’ve never seen the allure of Twitter-y things for this reason. Say someone reads “Persepolis is now available on the Netflix Instant Watch list. You’ll want to check this one out if you haven’t already,” and disagrees that people will necessarily want to check it out, thinking that the film version sucked all the charm and life out Satrapi’s story, leaving little behind but a dry husk of a memoir and a pretty thoroughly unlikeable heroine. There’s no way for one to easily do such a thing.
Twittering seems a fine thing for your news updates like: “Our post on Doubt is up.” But if you’re presenting opinion stuff and seeking to open up the conversation to dialogue, Twitter fails.
Just sayin’ is all. And yes, Persepolis, as a movie was thoroughly disappointing to me.

Sorry I haven’t responded to this yet.
Honestly, it works to our advantage to hold a somewhat cursory conversation through twitter about those things. Call it exclusive content for twitter subscribers.
