Are you sick of Lost yet? I hope not, because the discussion’s going to continue for a long, long time. Here are the three basic things you will hear Ben and Rich discuss this week: Was Lost good? Was Lost beneficial? Was Lost religious? Those are bigger and more complicated questions than you think, and Ben and Rich don’t necessarily see eye to eye on them.
Every week, Richard Clark and Ben Bartlett acknowledge and respond to the big issues in popular culture. We love feedback! If you’d like to respond you can comment on the website, send an email to christandpopculture@gmail.com, or go to our contact page. We would love to respond to feedback on the show, so do it now! I really enjoyed this conversation. You guys did a great job of clarifying the disagreement over the finale. Also, I had forgotten how much I hated 3:10 to Yuma at first. I also love that Rich now hates The Kingdom…(this just proves I was right, by the way, Rich).
I think in many ways and on many levels Lost represents the very best of television! I will miss it.
I am not sure if I should listen to this or not–I know my ideas were addressed without me being there to respond! It may be better if miss this one lol. ;)
Actually you guys are almost always pretty fair and kind even when you think I am way off on something–so I bet you didn’t blast me too much.
I agree with David–”Lost represents teh very best of television” which means that it was a wonderful show in many ways but also an example that television is still very much a young medium with a lot of unmet potential.
In all seriousness I look forward to listening to this as time allows.
@Drew, I hope you didn’t feel like I was blasting you…I didn’t feel like I wanted to blast you and certainly didn’t mean to. Typing just doesn’t translate well, I guess. I may not agree with your view, but I certainly think you’re welcome to express it and I enjoyed conversing about it.
@David no not at all–you may have “blasted” a few of my arguments–but hey, if I am wrong then my arguments need to be blasted, though clearly I wasn’t wrong–jk–I think I was wrong on a few points. I don’t remember ever being “blasted” by any of our regulars–that is saying something.
Though I definitely expressed some frustration over all this, I certainly enjoyed the discussion as well. I got frustrated mostly because I thought some of what I was saying was being overblown and misrepresented a little–but I certainly wasn’t upset with anyone–I trust everyone knows that none of that frustration was directed at anyone in particular. It was very much a worthwhile discussion and very civil as well.
